Christian Tostenson is a partner in the Atlanta office of KPMG LLP’s Forensic practice. He has been with KPMG for over 19 years and has a background in financial statement audit, forensic accounting and the application of forensic technology. Chris has also served in the firm’s national office in the department of professional practice. He works closely with clients and counsel in managing commercial disputes, tax disputes, investigations, and fraud risk management. Chris brings to his clients a unique combination of forensic accounting skills and the innovative use of technology
Chris assists clients in numerous federal and state tax authority audits dealing with data and document recovery and reconstruction. He also works with tax authority computer audit specialists in the validation and production of client information, automates review and workflow processes, including the production of electronic deliverables, performs numerous litigation support engagements associated with accounting malpractice, post purchase price disputes, fraudulent transfer, lost profits and neutral arbiter in numerous matters, including purchase price dispute and the application of US GAAP.
Chris also performs accounting and fraud and misconduct investigations in the context of special audit committees, management inquiries, and litigation, develops customized approaches in the recovery of historical or difficult to find documentation and record reconstruction and also develops customized approaches in the recovery of historical or difficult to find documentation and record reconstruction
