Final regulations: Tax-exempt private activity bonds, “public approval requirement”

The U.S. Treasury Department and IRS today released for publication in the Federal Register final regulations (T.D. 9845) concerning the public approval requirement for tax-exempt private activity bonds issued by state and local governments.

The final regulations [PDF 210 KB] update and replace existing regulations to address statutory changes, to streamline the public approval process, and to reduce administrative burdens. These final regulations will be published in the Federal Register on December 31, 2018.

The purpose of this report is to provide text of the final regulations.
