WEBCAST

Cryptocurrency and Private Foundations: What is it? What can I do with it?

Webcast overview

In recent years, the topic of cryptocurrency has been raised with increasing frequency in news articles, at dinner tables, and in charity board rooms.  Some organizations have begun to hold Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on their balance sheets. Tech-savvy donors holding an appreciated cryptocurrency may wish to contribute it to a foundation or charity, and grantees may ask for grants to be made to digital wallets (which hold cryptocurrency).  How should private foundations and other charitable organizations think about cryptocurrency? What are the risks associated with accepting and holding cryptocurrency?  And what is cryptocurrency, anyway?

Please join KPMG LLP for a webcast with professionals from our Washington National Tax — Exempt Organizations and Blockchain practices that will provide an overview of cryptocurrency and how foundations and charities may encounter it in their funding, investment, or grantmaking activities.

Please join us for what promises to be an insightful and informative webcast.
