Family Office Fridays: QOZs – Issues Affecting Individual Taxpayers and Family Office Investors

Webcast overview:

The 2017 tax reform law added section 1400Z, which allows for the deferral and partial exclusion of gains from the sale or exchange of any asset reinvested in a Qualified Opportunity Fund (QOF) that then invests in property or businesses located in designated Qualified Opportunity Zones (QOZs). Recently issued final regulations for QOZs have been released and may have an impact on individual taxpayers and family office investors.

KPMG LLP (KPMG) is pleased to invite you to a TaxWatch webcast where tax professionals from our Washington National Tax office will review several of these changes, including with respect to the following items:

  • A discussion of eligible investors and eligible gains, post final regulations
  • Timing rules related to investments, re-investments, and dispositions
  • Matching QOF investment strategies to investor profiles
  • Issues around ownership and various inclusion events created through gifting

Please join us for what promises to be an insightful and informative webcast.
