Tax Reform Thursdays: Tax Reform for Exempt Organizations

Webcast Overview:

KPMG LLP (KPMG) is pleased to invite you to a TaxWatch Webcast that will discuss some of the tax reform provisions that are relevant to exempt organizations.

The president signed into law H.R. 1, originally known as the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,” in late December. A number of provisions in the new law affect tax-exempt organizations and their donors, including:

  • Imposition of a 1.4% excise tax on the investment income of certain private colleges and universities
  • Repeal of deduction for amounts paid in exchange for college athletic event seating rights
  • Imposition of an entity-level tax on excess compensation
  • Computation of unrelated business taxable income (UBTI) separately for each unrelated trade of business
  • Inclusion of amounts paid or incurred to provide certain fringe benefits that are non-deductible under section 274 as UBTI

Professionals from KPMG’s Washington National Tax (WNT) practice will discuss the various provisions and will highlight some of the issues and opportunities each provision presents for exempt organizations.

Please join us for what promises to be an insightful and informative Webcast.

After registering, you will receive details on how to log into the Webcast or dial in for audio only. Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit is available for U.S. participants who meet the eligibility requirements.
