Podcast overview

Fasten your seatbelts, it's time to take a ride through the transfer pricing tunnel of the automotive industry! Actors in this industry have to move fast, while also slowing down enough to follow the "speed limit" imposed by the competitive forces of the market, local requirements, as well as tax regulations. Automotive manufacturers must accelerate with technological innovation, quickly adopting and implementing premium features, but simultaneously "braking" for safety and the reality that large, industrial manufacturing facilities are a behemoth of an investment, with supply chains that can be difficult to re-route. Whether racing to expand the development of electric vehicles, or navigating a way around supply chain disruptions, this is an industry that remains in motion. When it comes to transfer pricing in this important and complex sector of the global economy, there is plenty to explore.

As part of our Industry Series, Exploring Transfer Pricing tours different industries with specialists to discuss some of what makes their industry of focus unique, and how that might impact the transfer pricing.

Our host Brittany Hardin Tanguay welcomes Bob Alltop (Managing Director, Tax - Transfer Pricing) and Mathilda Jonsson (Director, Tax from KPMG Sweden - formerly with an European Automotive company) to discuss transfer pricing within the automotive industry, sharing perspectives from both sides of the Atlantic.
